Isle of Palms (IOP) & Sullivan’s Island
This is a listing of some of our tried and trusted favorites on the islands (IOP and Sullivan’s) There are plenty of other places to explore and enjoy!
Right on the corner of Palm Blvd and the IOP Connector (Harris Teeter Center) is casual fare for breakfast lunch and dinner. Kids menu available. The refuge has an attached coffee bar with pastries to take back and enjoy at the house. The food is great but can sometimes service can get overwhelmed. Good local beer selection
Long Island Cafe
This is right next door to The Refuge is casual fine dining for lunch and dinner. The food and service are both very good. Good wine list and local beers.
Morgan Creek Grill
The other end of the Island! About a 10 minute walk from the house there are several different things at this location. The marina grill is open for breakfast and lunch. This is a walk up and order counter located inside the tackle shop. There is plenty of outdoor seating or take your fare to go. Great stick to your ribs stuff!
The main Morgan Creek Grill is a fine dining restaurant with lovely views of the marina. The service and food is always good.
If you’re not in the mood for a fancy dinner then head all the way upstairs for a casual theme. The sunsets over the creek ands marina are amazing!
Acme Low Country Kitchen
This is a place that is open for breakfast lunch and dinner. The truth is we have only ever gone for brunch and it is fantastic! I feel certain that dinner is equally as tasty.
Food and service are great. Do prepared for a wait even if you have a reservation. The wait is worth it, believe me!
This place is an irish pub across the causeway on Sullivan’s Island. The food is good and the prices are reasonable. It is a great spot to watch your favorite teams and a generous number of flat screens.
The interior decor is artifacts and license plates from all over the world. Dunleavy’s sponsor a Polar Plunge on New Year”s Day to support The Special Olympics so if you happen to be in the area jump right in!
On Sullivan’s Island. It has a huge local following! Casual fare meets beach bar. The burgers are outstanding. The place is always busy, so do plan for a wait of some kind no matter when you go.
If you go to the causeway between IOP and Sullivan’s Island around 9am there is usually a pod of Dolphins moving through. The view is pretty close up and fun to see!
Let me begin this section with the caveat that Mount Pleasant is a large place. There is a whole lot of shopping and dining to experience! I am only listing a few places that we have been to on numerous occasions. All of our favorites are a quick Uber ride over the connector.
Ardoa Wine Bar
A very classy place to enjoy Charcuterie and sample wines from around the world. The proprietor is very engaging and knowledgeable. The wines and the charcuterie selections change regularly, so stop by often!
Upscale regional cuisine. This is a very lovely well thought out space. It also has a large area for outdoor dining. The fried chicken is amazing!
The name explains it all! Authentic Thai cuisine that is expertly prepared and presented. Fantastic wine list as well as a lovely artisan cocktail menu.
Wine & Tobacco
These guys don’t have a website but if you like a glass of wine (or stronger) and a cigar this is a place for you. There is a wide variety of reasonably priced wines and a very large humidor. Oversized leather furniture for a comfortable visit completes the ambiance. A nice place to wind down for the evening.
